Gas Diffusion Layer

Gas diffusion layer (Teflonzed substrate)

Carbon paper and cloth are treated with PTFE to increase their hydrophobicity and mechanical strength. This process also helps to remove product water. For both carbon cloth and carbon paper, the PTFE loading range is between 5 and 25 percent.

The available PTFE loading is in the range of 5 to 25% for both carbon cloth and carbon paper.

       ♦       Carbon Cloth   :   Grade Avcarb 1071,

♦       Carbon paper  :   Toray TGPH 60 and TGPH 120

Micro-porous layer coated GDL

The function of a gas diffusion layer is to evenly disperse the reagent throughout the active area of the electrode, regulate the level of water and heat within the catalyst layer, and enhance the electrical connection between the electrodes and the bipolar plates.

The micro-porous layer covered with carbon on carbon cloth and carbon paper typically consists of 2 to 6 mg/sq.cm and 0.6 to 1.5 mg/sq.cm, respectively. Furthermore, the company produces goods according to the specifications provided by the customers. The gas diffusion layer is utilized in various other electrochemical applications like metal-air batteries, super capacitors, microbial fuel cells, and so on.

  • Carbon cloth: Single and double side coated
